The houses provide pastoral care for each pupil, as well as being the focus of rivalry during inter-house competitions at the start of the year. During the inter-house competitions the houses compete against one another in activities such as football, basketball, chess and scrabble.

The museum is located in a 15th century half-timbered house in the High Street, with a herb garden to the rear, and covers local history. It has collections of fossils and archaeological finds, including objects from Roman and mediaeval times, and displays on local crafts including chairmaking, lace making and straw plait.[1] It originally opened to the public in 1991. In 1993 the museum won a National Heritage Award, in 2001 it was extended at the front of the museum, and in 2005 it employed its first professional curator.
Amersham was opened September 1, 1892 part of the Metropolitan Railway extension to Aylesbury. On March 12, 1922 its name was changed to "Amersham & Chesham Bois" but reverted to the original name during 1937. It is located on Station Approach, Amersham.
