Lee station is a suburban railway station on Burnt Ash Hill in Lee in south-east London, SE12 between Hither Green and Mottingham on the Dartford loop (also known as the Dartford via Sidcup line). It was opened by the South Eastern Railway in 1866. It is operated by Southeastern Trains, who also run all the trains that stop at the station.
There are bus stops by the northern entrance on Chinbrook Road which London Buses 124, 126, 273 and school bus 638 serve.[11][12] Grove Park centre is less than half a mile to the west of this entrance and is also served by these buses plus four more, 136, 181, 261 and night bus N136 as well as Grove Park railway station and the A2212 road. The 284 bus serves Chinbrook which is a similar distance east from the same entrance. The park is also on the for mentioned Green Chain Walk and Capital Ring.
The palace is open to the public and can be hired for weddings and other functions. Public transport is available at the nearby Mottingham railway station or Eltham railway station, both a short walk from the palace, and there is free parking on site. There are also a café and gift shop.
The club rented Green Street House and grounds in the Municipal Borough of East Ham from the Roman Catholic Church from around 1912.[2] Green Street House was known locally as Boleyn Castle because of its imposing nature and an association with Anne Boleyn, who had either stayed at, or as some believe, owned the house, the ground is said to be haunted by one of her maids who died in childbirth. Hence renting the grounds of "Boleyn Castle" the name Boleyn Ground came into being. Today the ground is far more commonly known as Upton Park, after the Upton Park, London area in which it is located.
Queens Road Market, locally known as Queen's or Green Street Market, is a historic street market in the London Borough of Newham. It lies adjacent to Green Street and Upton Park tube station.
